Innovation 2003 - The Week of Research, Development and Innovations in the CR
Final Report
Association of Innovative Entrepreneurship of the Czech Republic (AIE CR) , Engineering Academy (EA) CR, Czech Association of Scientific-Technical Societies (CASTS) in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and theirs foreign partners organized INNOVATION 2003 - The Week of Research, Development and Innovations in the CR, held in the CASTS building , Novotného lávka 5, Prague 1 in dates December 2 - 5, 2003.
The week of most important international action in innovative entrepreneurship branch in the CR covered:
- 10th international symposium INNOVATION 2003
- 10th international trade fair of inventions and innovations
- 8th innovation of the year 2003 award
During the 4-day programme was made:
- 4 sessions in international symposium
- Opening plenary session
- Session - International R&D cooperation in innovations
- Mechanics and Mechatronics session
- National innovation strategy session
- 2 participants of INNOVATION 2003 meetings
- Opening the exhibition and its duration for 4 days
- Presenting with the Innovation of the year 2003 award
- Press conference
- AIE CR governing organ meeting
This year's 10th anniversary was second times under auspices of PhDr. Vladimíra Špidly, the Prime Minister of the CR. There were together 450 specialists taking part in individual sessions and presenting 25 participating countries R&D projects, innovation and technologies results:
- Symposium was participated by 11 countries specialists from Belgium, Nigeria, Sweden, Russian Federation, Ukraine, Canada, Belarus, Lithuania, Slovakia, France and Austria
- International science-technical cooperation CR with other 14 countries was presented in exhibition section. These countries were: India, Germany, Italy, Greece, Hungary, Luxemburg, Switzerland, Argentina, South Korea, US, People Republic China, Japan, Pollen and Slovenia.
There were participated 52 exhibitors with 385 international science-technical cooperation projects in exhibition section including programmes KONTAKT, other projects in R&D programmes (e.g. KONSORCIA, CENTRA and EUREKA) results.
There were evaluated 14 innovation products applications by Innovation of the year committee in the frame of competition Innovation of the Year 2003 Award. Two competitors won the prize Innovation of the year 2003 Award and 7 ones won Fair Appreciation. The rest of 5 products did not satisfy all conditions - only one most important basic criterion was not accepted - product was not placed on the market and therefore was it no innovation
During The Week of Research, Development and Innovations were results of individual days placed on AIE CR website homepage (www.aipcr.cz).
It is seen from The Week of Research, Development and Innovations in the CR and Innovation of the Year 2003 Award run that INNOVATION 2003 was the most broad in its exhibition section and the most qualitative in its symposia sessions.
Innovation of the Year 2003 Award competition results show the higher quality of implicated products applications.
Innovation 2003 participants and visitors received current information from research, development, innovations and technologies branches in Information centre situated there.
AIE CR governing organ appreciated on its December 5, 2003 meeting the INNOVATION 2003 preparation and run and committed the INNOVATION 2004, The week of research, development and innovations in the CR at November 30 - December 3, 2004 preparation.
